In this bonus episode, I talk with someone you may recognize – me! This comes after receiving a few emails from listeners who were curious as to whether I’d ever spoken about my own podcaster journey.
In this short episode, I share how long I’ve been podcasting and what it means to me, as well as details about two other shows that I’ll be relaunching in the new year.
I also share some details you might not know about me, including a fun story about Sean Connery, and my time as a fairy godmother, costume and all!
As we get ready to close down for the holidays, I want to thank you for listening to the show each week, and making Podcaster Stories a part of your regular podcast listening schedule.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday season, and manage to relax, recuperate, and spend some quality time with those that matter the most. Here’s to 2021 being a better year for all.

Danny (4s):
Hi, and welcome to Podcaster Stories each episode we’ll have a conversation with podcasters from across the globe and share their story. What motivates them, why they started to show how they grew in the show and more will also talk about their personal lives and some of the things that have happened that made them the person they are today. Now here’s your host. Danny Brown. Hi, and welcome to a special bonus episode of Podcaster Stories this week, I’m talking to myself, this comes from a couple of emails that I ever received over the last month or so were people were, you know, sharing an enjoyment of the show and a guest I was speaking to, but they were curious, has there been any Episode aware? I know, you know, either charted about my own podcast or a journey of your life are a bit and other podcast.
Danny (49s):
So I want to put this one together as a bonus episode, as I waned down in 2020 into the holidays and ready for the continuation of Podcaster Stories in January. So I am Danny obviously, and I have been podcasting on and off since 2010, but giving it the right amount of focus since 2018, I currently host the show Podcaster Stories and I have two other shows I will be relaunching in the new year after a hiatus last year, whilst my wife and I moved home for our kids up North, et cetera. So these shows are a downsize life, which charge my phone was decisions to move on from a big city to a little village, about three hours North. And it looked to lead to a simpler life. The other show is called mental health and me, which I call it was with my wife.
Danny (1m 32s):
She used to do it herself, but we’ve decided to make it a cohost, the show as we relaunch it. And this looks to talk about dealing with mental health issues from a family point of view, my wife suffers from both depression and anxiety. I was diagnosed with both of them a couple of years ago, and a young son also has anxiety. So between a three of us, we’ve got a lot of things in a way we can cover together that be helps us understand some of the issues that, that we go through. And may I help you if you have your own mental health issues? So, as, as I mentioned, that we’ll be relaunching probably mid to late January next year. Some of the things that you may not know about me include the fact that a James Bond used to deliver milk to my grandmother.
Danny (2m 16s):
Backward Sean corner was a young man. He worked as a milkman and fountain bridge, which has our, sorry, a lot of places. It’s like a, a, certainly a suburb of Edinburgh. If you like back in Scotland, where they come from, as you can probably tell. And a moment’s role was to deliver milk to customers. And we would go around and like a, a horse and cart and dropping off the milk bottles, two customers that we are all in the morning. So my grandmother was one of those customers. And you still loved to tell us how Jim’s bond always gave for the special delivery each day, or make, have that what you will say. I was also the fairy God mother in my school plan of Cinderella, complete with wond and big puffy a dress. And I could play on a train. You give me using a pencil and my teeth, as long as I know what the truth is when it comes to the podcast.
Danny (2m 58s):
And for me, it’s an amazing medium to share stories, connect with people and learn about the things that you may never have heard of otherwise because of the spoken voice format, it feels more intimate than C blog and a video And because of this, what’s a podcast or, and the listener really connect. And I think that’s why I have really moved in the last couple of years, ah, to really focus on podcasts as opposed to the, the weekly blog newsletter that I used to do. It’s also led to me joining the captivate FM team, which means I’m really fortunate enough to be doing something I really love with people that are genuinely nice and want all of the best for a fellow podcasters.
Danny (3m 38s):
This includes the captive AFM, you know, a podcast hosts services, podcast websites are a rubber paced media team, et cetera. So such it’s been really awesome to join the team this year and see what they’ve got coming up in our for next year. And I guess we should see we’ve got coming up now that I’m part of the team. And I hope this has been a bonus episode of podcast. Stories like I said, I will be taken a short break over the holidays so I can just start this switch off, enjoying my time with family, instead of looking back over. And what’s been a, a really weird year and a lot of ways, but really enjoyable year in many, many other ways, they’ll be a couple of these special year end Episode roundups for next week and a week after the show, we’ll be back to its usual chat for my in January, but until then, take care, stay safe and we can teach each other.
